The Polydamas swallowtail is the only tailless Swallowtail in the US, and is easily identified with the yellow band that “rims” its lower wings. It is nicknamed the Goldrim swallowtail, Tailless swallowtail, and simply “Poly” amongst butterfly enthusiasts.
